Henry Real Estate was created by three brothers who have a passion for business, real estate and project management. Each with varied background, they bring to the company well rounded experience in law, real estate development and business.

The team’s real estate investment management and advisory expertise is focused on the needs of their partners. Currently, emphasizing mid-size real estate conversion projects extending by-law zoning potential. The Alexander Fleck House, located at the corner of Laurier and Bronson, is a unique historical property embodying the Queen Anne Revival style. It is a landmark red brick house constructed in 1902, associated with the Fleck family, a prominent Ottawa family associated with Ottawa’s Vulcan Iron Works and lumber industry of the throughout most of the 19th and 20th centuries.


The rich cultural heritage of the Alexander Fleck House is outlined through its architectural significance as an excellent example of a Queen Anne Revival style house with a high degree of craftsmanship. It features a historic limestone ridge and is prominently situated on an elevated point overlooking the Lebreton Flats, the Ottawa River and the Gatineau Hills.

Henry Properties, the developer, is excited to give a second life to this great property while preserving its rich heritage. The development consists of a new residential building of 63 condo rental units to be built adjoining the existing house.


The existing house will mainly serve as a lobby and common space areas for the new building contrasting the warm dark wood with more modern finishes of the new building. This project is unique. Its rich heritage, contrasting with the modern, energy efficiency of the new building, will make the residences of the Alexander Fleck House an ideal location to live and to enjoy Ottawa life to the fullest.


Henry Properties will preserve the rich heritage of the Alexander Fleck House while restating its purpose & reviving its former charm.

It’s a great example of our commitment to delivering quality development projects and seeing it through from start to finish despite complications. This project, which was completed on time and within budget, consists of a family dwelling conversion into a four unit apartment building.

BUTTERNUT PROJECT

For this project, we worked closely with a community architect to develop an energy efficient, minimalist duplex. It consists of a high-end duplex conversion.  A complete demo-conversion from two one-bedroom apartments to two luxury units (Unit 1 2-bedroom / Unit 2 3-bedroom)

For this particular 12 unit project, we had to go through various compliance measures to make sure our work followed stringent industry standards. The finished building is a great example of our commitment to delivering quality development projects.

DENIS MICHAUD

Partner

Combining backgrounds in engineering and law, he oversees project management, by-law, building code and regulatory matters. Denis is also involved in business development and deal structuring and has successfully managed many real estate investment projects generating considerable return on investment. Previously, Denis worked as a field engineer and site superintendent managing multi-million dollar projects for Kiewit Corporation. Denis also worked on wind, solar and other energy infrastructure projects across Canada such as the Mont-Louis wind farm Project, the Irving Oil Limited Liquefied Natural Gas Marine Terminal and Multi-Purpose Pier Project. Denis holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with management option from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Law from Université du Québec.

DEAN MICHAUD

Partner

Dean oversees all acquisitions, business development, management/business operations and other opportunistic real estate investments. Dean has many years of experience in all aspects of real estate and construction. Under his management, Henry Investments successfully completed many real estate investment projects generating considerable yield for clients. Prior to co-founding Henry Investments, Dean was involved with diverse business enterprises. Dean received a law degree (LL.L.) from the University of Ottawa.

DAVID MICHAUD

Co-Founder

David oversees all operations and acts as strategic counsel on business development opportunities. Previously, David was Legal Director for Fiera Capital Corporation where he focused on the structuring of investments funds and global mergers & acquisitions. Prior to working at Fiera Capital, David was Senior Legal Counsel for the National Bank of Canada where he provided legal services to senior management on mergers & acquisitions and corporate legal issues. David also worked for Central 1 Credit Union as Legal Counsel and also worked as an Associate Lawyer for a Vancouver area law firm specializing in the structuring of corporate transactions where he also had a related litigation practice. David began his career as Legal Counsel & Special Advisor for the Parliament of Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Economics & Politics from the University of Moncton, a Juris Doctor from University of Ottawa and a Masters of Law degree from the University of London.
